A tool for clear vision and visualization, a vision board is a way to remind yourself of who you want to be and remind yourself why. It creates a wonderful sense of anticipation in your life, knowing that something wonderful is ahead, so if you focus on the images in your vision board (e.g., pictures of your dream trip, dream car, house, or career) and put positive energy into those images, you are more likely to attract them into your life.
Another incredible thing about creating a vision board is that visualization and manifestation have scientific evidence to back them up. The difference between achieving success and not? What you put on your vision board. If you just put a bunch of pictures of houses and fancy cars, your brain will think you’ve achieved your goals. It’s all about focusing on the HOW, not the end goal, to get your desired results.
Creating your own visual board the traditional way sure is fun but it can be overwhelming and not to mention the cleanup after so we suggest why not creating it digitally where you can bring it on-the-go? One more thing is if you want to be more accountable with your goals or just want to share it with your close friends and family, you can just easily share the link to your board!
Creating Your Own Digital Vision Board
To create a digital vision board, you can use any of several websites or apps available on the Internet. For example, Pinterest is easy to use because it allows you to collect images and links together in one place. Here’s where Canva gets in the picture!
With a wide selection of templates available, you can easily create custom vision boards with Canva. To do so, select a design from one of their pre-made templates or create your own using the editing tools within the platform. You can search through canva’s gallery to find the right look, or upload your own photos. They also have easy-to-use editor tools to drag and drop your chosen images into position, just make sure all of your saved boards fit in with your personal style and resolution for the current device you’re using if you wish to use your board as a wallpaper or a presentation format.
Here are some tips we’d love to share!
- Include photos that show not just your goals, but the processes you’ll use to achieve them. For example, include a photo of the number of sales you want to make next year. If you want to complete a class or pursue certification, include that information with your training goal.
- Make it ON BRAND! Yes, you can definitely add elements of your branding to your board such as the color scheme and fonts!
- Did you know you can have your board printed? While this blog is all about doing your vision board digitally, once you’ve finished your design, download it as a high-quality JPG, PNG, or PDF file and print it to display in a visible area. This can be on your wall, in your office, or even on a posterboard displayed outside for all to see!
Remember to have fun with this process. So get started! Your vision board doesn’t need to be perfect, and it is absolutely OK to be a work in progress. Don’t get too hung up on what the board looks like or how well you think it’s working. Just let it be a tool to help you see your hopes and dreams for the future take shape.
